Professor Mike Cousin, Chair of the Institute’s Scientific Advisory Committee, said:
“This year’s grant round has something for researchers at all career stages, with the continuation of our flagship Emerging Leader Fellowship and Endeavour Project Grants for more established researchers, as well as the new Entry Fellowship Award, for researchers within three years of obtaining their PhD. The Entry Fellowship Award will provide outstanding early career researchers with the impetus to develop a research niche and to pursue a career in epilepsy research.”

We need a Consultant Neurophysiologist for Plymouth, can offer £1,000 per session (4 hours)

This is for complex patients that are likely to need nerve conduction and EMG's , so the clinic time is 09:00 – 17:00

The appointments are.

AM clinic
09:00 – 12:00 – 4 patients at 45 minutes each

PM clinic
13:00 – 16:45 – 5 patients at 45 minutes each

Nerve Conduction - some of which are complex e.g. repetitive nerve stimulation. EMG including single fibre EMG, motor neuron disease etc. Only 4 inpatients a week and the rest are outpatients.

The consultants may also need to attend to patients at their bedside including ITU who may not be able to make it to clinic, these are booked as appointments so one afternoon clinic might be two or three inpatients as appose to outpatient, but the tests are the same.

They retired to the Meon Valley near Portsmouth and one of my colleagues, a neighbour, has sent through this message:


I have heard today that Rosemary Van’t Hoff passed away this week in an nursing home in Fareham. The funeral is at the Church of St Peter and St Paul Hambledon on Thursday 13th February at 12.00 noon. The youngest son who lives in the US has been over in her last week. He particularly wanted you to know.

She was 94 which is good innings!
