This course will run in parallel with the ATCN training day before the Spring scientific meeting and will consist of a morning of theory and and afternoon of small group practical experience with normal volunteers and patients with peripheral nerve problems.

The teaching faculty will be:

Dr M E Hanson - University of Kent/East Kent Hospitals

Dr Roy Beekman - Heerlen, Netherlands

Dr Bhavna Batohi - King's College Hospital, London

Dr Jeremy Bland - East Kent Hospitals

Dr Partha Ray - Liverpool 

The morning session will cover

Ultrasound imaging theory, safety, maintenance and artefacts

The basics of general musculoskeltal imaging

Specific imaging findings in focal and generalised neuropathies

Brief coverage of muscle imaging in denervation and myopathy

Morning and afternoon refreshments and lunch will be provided. Space is very limited as we are aiming for 12 delegate places with three groups of 4 for the practical session in the afternoon so that everyone should get time to practice scanning.
