With changing curricula for the Scientist Training Programme (STP), rotations for neurophysiology have shifted from Opthalamic and Audiological sciences to Cardiac and Respiratory/Sleep sciences. This presentation is a reflective piece on the overlap between disciplines outside of neurosensory sciences, exploring themes such as Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) and Sleep studies within Neurophysiology. Light will also be shed on multidisciplinary team working and the potential for improved outcomes for patients recieving diagnostic input from neurophysiology.
Themes include:
Theoretical frameworks for SUDEP and intervention from Cardiology and Respiratory Sciences
MSLT false positives and differentiating Type 2 Narcolepsy and Obstructive Sleep Apnoea
