The COVID19 pandemic has led to a limitation of hyperventilation during EEG recordings for safety reasons. The COVID E-hood is a new device currently under development within NHS Tayside to allow hyperventilation to be performed more safely, effectively acting as personal protective equipment applied to the patient. The E-hood is comprised of three component parts including custom made transparent hood, into which a standard anaesthetic face mask and heat moisture exchange (HME) filter are attached.
